Ever the showman Sean O’Connell excites fans with his showboating at his weigh-ins, in the past he has played rock-paper-scissors, taken selfies with his opponent, consumed energy drinks with arms intertwined, had pizza delivered and this time he smashed up a dragon-shaped piñata in an acknowledgment to his Dragon partners.⠀

Once in the ring however Dragon ambassador Sean O’Connell smashed his way into the light heavyweight tournament final on New Year’s Eve in New York to join Dragon Athlete Josh Copeland who came through the rounds at PFL 8.⠀

O’Connell knocked out former World Series of Fighting champion Smealinho Rama who dished out some serious firepower but O’Connell’s Dragon spirit shone through when he adopted a kneeling position in Rama’s loose guard, let go with punches and knocked Rama unconscious.

O’Connell earlier eliminated Dan Spohn with a majority decision.⠀O’Connell comes up against Vinny Magalhaes who needed just 80 seconds to defeat his opponent with a first-round kimura to set up a not to be missed New Year’s eve show down.⠀

But were not done yet! On 20th October Dragon Ambassador Rex Harris takes to the ring hoping to make it a trio of Dragons each fighting for $1 million.⠀
