China is a really fantastic place packed full of spectacular sights and locations to visit. We hope our dear friends at BoomBlockchain, CEO Ben Ji, COO Billy Lee and Timothy Cai enjoy the festivities and the Dragon team would like to wish all of our friends and partners in China a happy Mid-Autumn Festival today!
This year’s Mid-Autumn Festival also known as the Moon Festival, which is one of the largest festivals in Mainland China and East Asia. This festival began as a celebration of the moon and has a tradition of deity, but it is also a time to reconnect with family members — many traditions of the Mid-Autumn festival centre around family reunion and happiness.
The festival began with the Zhou Dynasty (1046 – 256 BC) and is celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month according to the Chinese lunar calendar. It is an excellent day of celebration where families gather to offer sacrifices to the moon as according to the belief that the movement of the moon Mid-Autumn Festival also known as Moon Festival, comes from the Zhou Dynasty (1046 - 256 BC). Every year on the 15th day of the 8th month, according to the Chinese lunar calendar, families gather to offer sacrifices to the moon. According to the old belief, the movement of the moon has a close relationship with changes of the seasons, agricultural production, peace, and family reunion.
On the festival night, the moon is supposed to be the fullest and the brightest and in Shanghai people gather in the open air to eat moon cakes at great locations and landmarks such as the spectacular Oriental Pearl TV Tower, which at 468 meters (1,535 feet) is the 6thlargest in the world, or to Sheshan West Hill, Shanghai's peak and the only hill in town.
Sheshan offers several excellent destinations catering for all age groups and superb attractions such as the Happy Valley Amusement Park, Playa Maya Water Park, Tianma Race Track, and the Le Meridien She Shan really bring families together on this special day.
Dragon CEO Paul Moynan adds, "China is a land steeped in great history and the way that they maintain their traditional values while being at the forefront of technical innovation is inspirational. On behalf of everybody in the Dragon team, I would like to wish everybody great fortune and prosperity for the future.”
